Adaptive feedback manager

Feedback cancellation is required to stop the amplification of sound that stems from the device’s own internal speaker. Without a good feedback canceller, the device may make a hindering whistling sound. Our feedback manager is adaptive; it constantly adjusts to the current listening situation for optimal performance.

Adaptive noise reduction

Adaptive noise reduction is a digital technique that analyzes the incoming sound and removes sounds that can be classified as noise. This improves listening comfort and makes it more easy to understand speech. The technique is adaptive, processing parameters are constantly adjusted to minimize noise and to optimize performance.

AirTAP function

AirTAP technology lets you select programs with a slight touch. Simply gently pat your ear and the hearing aid switches smoothly through personal preset programs to adapt to your current listening situation. No need to hunt for tiny buttons on the hearing aid any more.

Cerumen protection system

The soft tip is shaped in such a way that sound travels through, but earwax is kept out. This is called the cerumen protection system, which prevents the hearing aid’s speaker from being damaged due to earwax.

Channels

Channels mimic our natural hearing. Your ear has separate nerve cells that pick up sound at different frequencies. Our hearing aids restore your natural hearing, optimizing the frequencies for your ear. The more channels a hearing aid has, the more accurate the sound restoration is, and the more natural and comfortable sound will be.

Color choices

To keep our Q hearing aids invisible, it is colored black, just like the color of the ear canal without the hearing aid in place. The Ytango, which sits partially behind the ear, is available in different colors to match your personal preference.

Digital

All of our hearing aids are fully digital and use our state-of-the-art digital signal processing algorithms for the highest quality sound processing. The all-digital technology enables high-tech features such as noise reduction or the anti feedback manager.

Directivity

Directivity is the directional information encapsulated in sound. It allows us to hear where sound is coming from. It allows us to focus on the speech of the person we’re conversing with, and filter out our noisy surroundings. Our ear’s intricate shape enhances this directional information, but most hearing aids try to artificially reproduce this directional effect. ExSilent’s hearing aids place the  microphone inside the ear, and use your outer ear’s natural directional properties for an optimal hearing experience.

Fit and Go

Due to the wide selection of soft tips and domes that cover the part of the hearing aid that goes into the ear, ExSilent’s hearing aids enable an instant fitting process. There’s no need to make custom ear impressions and to wait for custom molds.

Fitting

Everyone’s hearing loss is unique. Hearing aids amplify sound for those frequencies that you don’t hear very well, and sound you do hear well is left untouched. Compression amplifies soft sounds you want to hear, but doesn’t amplify loud sounds that you’re already hearing loud enough. The fitting process measures your hearing loss and optimizes your hearing aid’s amplification for your specific hearing.

Fitting range

The fitting range shows the hearing aid’s ability to amplify sound, expressed in decibels, across different frequencies, expressed in Hertz. Your ear’s hearing loss needs to be in between the window that the hearing aid can address.

Hypoallergenic

Our hearing aids are covered by our soft tips or domes. These are made of a hypoallergenic material which is very unlikely to cause an allergic reaction.

Invisible

ExSilent’s CIC devices are very small and sit completely in the canal, rendering them nearly invisible. Most people won’t notice you’re wearing a hearing aid. This invisibility garners the acceptance of those who once stayed away from traditional hearing devices.

MaRiC

The MaRiC’s patented hearing aid design places the Microphone and Receiver (the speaker) inside the Canal (MaRiC). This way, the outer ear is used to capture sound and projects it into the ear canal, just as nature intended. The in-ear microphone preserves the natural tonal mechanism of the outer ear, so you retain the full ability to understand conversation in noisy situations. The resulting superior directionality means you will know where sound is coming from and are able to focus on what you want to hear.

Microphone

The microphone is a small part of the hearing aid that measures sound and translates it into an electric signal that can be further processed.

Natural hearing

Many hearing aids' amplification sounds artificial. Computer processing is used to amplify the sound but alters the original tones in the process. ExSilent’s hearing aids are designed in such a way to sound as lifelike as possible. Our MaRiC approach for instance produces natural sound, as close to the original as possible, by placing the microphone and the receiver inside the ear.

Open or closed fit

The soft tips or domes cover the hearing aid’s piece that is placed inside the ear. They’re available in open and closed variants. Open domes don’t close of the ear canal completely, and let sound, air and moisture through. Whether an open or closed variant works better for you depends on your personal preference and situation. Your audiologist  should be able to help you select the right one for you.

Programs and memories

Our digital hearing aids have preset programs and memories to store your optimal amplification settings. Many of our hearing aids have memory to store multiple programs. This allows you to select a different program and adjust for your current listening situation.

Receiver

A hearing aid has a small speaker inside that produces and projects sound waves into your ear. This speaker is often called the receiver.

Soft tips and domes

A soft dome or tip is a flexible, hypoallergenic cover that goes into the outer ear canal and keeps the hearing aid in place. They are available in different sizes and in open or closed versions. The selection of dome sizes guarantees an instant fit, without the need for custom ear impressions.

Telecoil

A telecoil is a small coil inside your hearing aid that can pick up an electromagnetic signal wirelessly transmitted by for instance a hearing aid compatible telephone or neck loop. This allows the hearing aid to directly connect to audio devices, greatly reducing background noise for which amplification is turned off.
