ExSilent designs Qleaf, the smallest modular CIC hearing aid in the world

Amsterdam, 27 September 2010

Designers of ExSilent invented a very small hearing aid: the Qleaf. The Qleaf fits totally in the ear canal, and therefore it is highly invisible while wearing it.

During the design process the company studied outer ear canals from people all around the globe and came to the conclusion that shape was an important factor. This is how the Qleaf saw the daylight and particularly its size and shape makes it suitable for more “difficult” ears.

The Qleaf is placed deeply into the ear canal. This causes several advantages for the user. First of all the concha stays empty and preserves its function. Because of this the user will be able to estimate where sounds are coming from. Second of all wind noise gives less trouble. Third of all the hearing aid is highly invisible which is very desirable for a lot of people.

For this hearing aid there is no need to make any ear impressions or custom designed earpieces. Instead, the Qleaf is modular and inserted in the ear with a patented soft tip: a highly flexible hypo allergenic soft tip which is available in three different sizes. The Qleaf is available at the hearing specialists.

ExSilent started in 2005 with designing hearing aids. It introduced the Q, the smallest modular CIC hearing aid in the world, in which the most advanced technology of the hearing aid  industry is integrated. Nowadays more and more younger people suffer from hearing loss.  ExSilent offers this fashionably aware group a solution, by designing modern hearing aids and audio applications.
